LITTER IMPACT RESEARCH STUDY
DO WASTE BINS REDUCE STREET LITTER?
5 University of Texas at Austin Math Majors are spending their Summer vacation interning with Park Watch to determine how placing twelve (12) privately owned & operated waste bins along Barton Springs Rd affects street litter.
BIN LOCATIONS
Participating retail merchant Ambassadors agree to permit Park Watch to place & secure our bins to their property.
OWNERSHIP
Participating retail merchant Ambassadors acknowledge that these bins are the property of Park Watch Inc. and that we are solely responsible for their maintenance.
NO PHYSICAL ALTERATION
Participating retail merchant Ambassadors agree not to physically alter our bins with out our expressed written consent.
DATA COLLECTION & WASTE DISPOSAL
Park Watch photographs & weighs each bag of waste we collect, Participating retail merchant Ambassadors agree to dispose of each bag along with their usual waste.
PUBLIC REPORTING
Park Watch posts images of each bag collected to our Instagram account, @parkwatchinc, along with the weight of each bag and the date, time & location we collected it.
DATA ANALYSIS & CONCLUSIONS
Our interns will then use this data to analyze our waste bin network’s effectiveness at reducing street litter. Then, their conclusions will be peer reviewed and published.
